The stadium is nicknamed “Schlauchboot” (Water dingy) and has a total capacity for 75024 spectators. This includes 15900 standing and 59124 seats. The total capacity, however, is set to 75000 for domestic matches (Bundesliga and German Cup), and to 70000 for UEFA and FIFA matches (FIFA World CUP, UEFA European Chmpionship, and of course, the Champions League).

Located at 25 Werner-Heisenberg-Allee in the Schwabing-Freiman neighborhood (North of Munich), the Allianz Arena is the second largest arena in Germany (Second to Dortmund’s Signal Iduna Park).

Originally co-owned by Bayern Munich and neighbours of Munich 1860, the venue is now sole property of the Bavarian powerhouse. Allianz Arena was selected to host some matches during the 2006 World Cup in Germany, and has also been the stage of Champions League finals.
